I can't help with sendmail for this but can offer a possible alternative. I run sendmail but haven't needed to resort to its capabilities since KMail has the ablitiy to assign a particular identity to each folder. For example, all my redhat-list email is filtered into a particular folder in KMail and any time I send a mail while in that folder the identity assigned to that folder, and all its email addresses, are plugged into the appropriate slots in the email header. Doesn't ximian offer this ability or wouldn't that suit your needs?
