The only problem with giving Red Hat $60 now for RHN is that Red Hat Linux 9 is only supported through the end of April. You might be better off buying Red Hat Professional Workstation for $82 (buy.com) which includes a year of RHN. More bang for the buck in my opinion. Both sendmail and postfix are part of RHEL WS on which RHPW is based, so you should be fine for those updates.
