I have a very interesting but frustrating problem and I hope someone can
help. I can't find any documentation on it.

I have a machine with a "normal" cdrom in it. I can't boot up from the CDROM
or the boot diskettes without getting the following error message:
CRC error (right after uncompressing Linux) System Halted.

I have tried booting from Redhat 5.0 CD and floppies and 4.2 CD and floppies
with the same error.

What's the problem?
