HELP! iBCS and rebuilt kernel

I asked for help last week.  Anyone with any ideas????

I have rebuilt the 5.0 Linux kernel (2.0.31) from the CD and I
get errors trying to build iBCS!  Anyone out there know of any
specific things to check?  I'm getting an error building "xstat.o"
