The 3C905B-TX card (otherwise known as the Cyclone) has a
different (read newer) chipset than that of the 3C905-TX. I have a new
Dell machine with an onboard 3C905B-TX that I've been fighting constantly
with now. I ended up having to put in a spare 3C900 (boomerang) just to
get the machine on the net. Donald Becker (who writes the 3Com drivers for
Linux, as I understand it) has been kind enough so far to help me try to
diagnose what's wrong with it, and I'll be happy to post any positive
results, if you're interested...
