If you are looking for a book to help you learn Linux programming
specifically, I'd recommend _Beginning Linux Programming_ , from Wrox. It's
a big red book, and does a good job of introducing several methods of
writing exectuables under Linux.

If you're looking for a book to help you learn about Linux administration or
use in general, you might look at the new O'Reilly book on RedHat Linux
(can't think of the correct title at the moment).

In general, if you need a book about *nix of any flavor, O'Reilly is usually
a good bet.
