Hi,
I tried to load Redhat 6.0 on a new machine
last night. It is the same as one I just did except
it has a different motherboard, which I don't think
should effect X. Anyway it wasn't able to autoprobe
for I believe it said clock on video card and gives a
screen with diagnoal lines. Then when it boots it
comes up in x not text mode so I have an unreadable
screen. The machine will not reboot with ctrl Alt Delete
so I will have to turn it off and bring it back up with a
rescue floppy or reformat the partitions and reinstall.
Which should I do?
what do I need to change in tne etc/inittab file to make
it boot text mode?
When I use a rescue boot how do I mount the partitions
so I can fix it?
                 Thanks
                   Linda
