Xcdroast ver 0.96e. I don't specifically remember the errors with Xcdroast
other than I wasn't able to burn a CDRW (it's been a while).
When I try to erase a CDRW using 'cdrecord blank=fast dev=1,4,0' , I get
this:

yes on both accounts.
To erase a cd you want to use cdrecord. Check th eman page for the 'blank'
option. I use
cdrecord blank=fast dev=3,0
