Corel is based on Debian, which explains the old packages. The last stable
Debian release was 2.1, some time ago. As an example, the Debian 2.1
kernel is in the 2.0 series, not the 2.2 series are are SuSE, RedHat and
others. This also explains the use of dpkg. That's Debian's package
management tool.
