[...] There might be a solution - I had similar problems with Red Hat 4.2 and my OPTi 931 sound card (works since RHL 5.2). What I did was running dosemu from rc.local to run the DOS setup program for the card, then isapnp to set up the PnP status properly. Messy, but it worked. Maybe you can try a similar approach?
