Hello.
I have need to retrieve web hierarchies onto local server
so that links would automatically update to show local files.
There is a nice windoze-program called Teleport Pro, which I
am currently using. However, I would like to do this from Linux
using console. One reason is that I could leave the program
running in background, and another is that, when I am using Teleport,
I need to re-transfer pages
back from workstation to local www-server,which could be avoided
by retrieving files directly to Linux. (still another reason is
firewall-related,
but I'll leave out the details)
To clarify, I am not looking for strict mirroring software, but
something with more customizable capability. And if someone
is wondering, copyrights and -related stuff are no issue here.
(and I have no shell access to pages I am duplicating, no
'tar cvf' is possible :)
Could someone please point me onto URL / FTP source
(or RTFM / HowTo... :)
where I could start looking for such software ?
