Hey there, I have a machine I am setting up to use a remote printer and
I am having problems. Both machines are running lpd. I have grep'd for
their existence and they are there. I have created the following
/etc/printcap file:

##PRINTTOOL3## REMOTE ljet4 300x300 letter {} LaserJet4 Default {}
lp:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
        :mx#0:\
        :sh:\
        :rm=viper.dcginc.com:\
        :rp=:\
        :if=/var/spool/lpd/lp/filter:

I have added the machine radar to the /etc/hosts.equiv file and to a
hosts.lpd file on the remote machine. The problem I get is when I try
to print, I get the following message:

Error printing test page to queue lp

Error reason: lpr: connect: Connection refused jobs queued, but cannot
start daemon.

I also have the following printcap file on the remote machine:

##PRINTTOOL3## LOCAL ljet4 300x300 letter {} LaserJet4 Default {}
lp:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
        :mx#0:\
        :sh:\
        :lp=/dev/lp0:\
        :if=/var/spool/lpd/lp/filter:

And here is the hosts.lpd file:

radar

Any ideas on how to get this running? I had it running once, but the
configuration has since been lost. I have looked at the Printing-Howto
and the printing linux page and nothing seems to help. They have no
sort of troubleshooting page either. If anyone could help, that would
be great.  Thanks
