 If you want your linux box to be the domain master you will have to ask 
Microsoft how to make the Windows 2000 server stop whining.

 However if you want the Windows 2000 server to be domain master you might 
also want to change the following entries:
domain master = no
os level = # a suitable level; > 32 will make it master over NT4, I don't know 
which level the Windows 2000 server uses. Anyway, if you want your samba 
server never to be domain master you can set the os level to 1.
 You also have to restart the smbd for changes to take effect 
(/etc/rc.d/init.d/smb restart).
