Yes, PPPoE/A, a little different animal than just the ol' pppd.  The
Cisco probably can be configured to run in either 'bridged' or
'routed' mode. In the latter, it may have its own built in PPPoE/A
client. Probably a good thing. In which case, it will act as a DHCP
server for the LAN side as in your diagram. If you want to run Linux
as the router/gateway, then the Cisco would have to be in bridged
mode, and Linux will have to be running a PPPoE client. See:
