Hi,

I just bought a BEFSR41 - EtherFast 4-Port Cable/DSL Router. I have 3
computers Windows 200
NT 4.0 and RH6.2 (Which is a server). I have cable modem and 2 IP
addresses. 1 IP is for the Win 2000 box and 1 for RH which as I said is a
server. I resolve a domain name to that IP address or at least a friend
who has a ISP does.
When I installed the router it uses DHCP so it assigns the RH box a private
IP address so then my servers static IP address provided by my cable modem
provider is over-ridden. Now this does me no good because I want my server
to still host off the static IP address not the one assigned by the DHCP
server. To over come this I had to plug the RH box into a hub then plug
the Win 2000 into the router. But this does not give the RH box the
features of the router!!!!
Can I override some of the stuff so I can run my RH box through the router
first? and still have a static IP address that my cable provider gave me????
And last but not least I hope I explained this well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks
