Has anyone here done load testing or have any real world experience with
using RedHat as a router? I am wanting to know the approximate throughput of
a finely tuned RedHat box as a router/firewall. (just 2 interfaces) I am
trying to decide to go with a red hat box or a low end Cisco 2500's series
router. Mainly, can the below listed config support a 3-5Meg pipe directly
off a switched 6509 port (which is feed by multi-T3's)?
Dual PIII 550's
1 Gig RAM
2 Intel Ether Pro 100's
I am flexible on the NIC type, I have had a good track record with the intel
NIC's.
