Thank you for John's e-mail. I have tried antiword, catdoc, and word2x.
These three tools can convert Word documents to text files, but antiword
generates its own section numbers, catdoc produces garbage at the end of
the file, and word2x would core dump if the Word document has "header".

In my case, I have to do a lot of manual work to clean the section numbers
or garbage after conversion if I run antiword or catdoc. I wish to have a
script that would automatically turn off header, footer, and page in a
*.doc document. Thanks.
