Does linux can't intall with windows2000

Title: Does linux can't intall with windows2000

hi,
    My computer installed windows2000,
and the format is NTFS, I parted a drive
to install linux (redhat7),but at the boot,
there can't find the linux selection.
    My friends tell me linux doesn't get along
with windows2000, Is that right?
