Upgrading to RPM 3.0.6

I just tried to upgrade to RPM 3.0.6 but it said that it conflicts with my
version of GLIBC. I thought that version or RPM was *designed* to work with
that version of GLIBC!?
Isn't RPM 3.0.6 the "intermediate" version of RPM needed for RH 6.2 machines?
