I have a G400 dual-head working with a single head using the SVGA drive
and 3.3.6 (RH7.0).
I did have it working XFree86 4.x dual-head at one point too, but I found
it really unstable so I backed off to 3.x
Your card should work fine. Have you tried Xconfigurator?
