Hello I was setting a notebook up to a network using rh7. The card is a 3com 3CXFE575CT. PCMCIA detected and configured it with the 3c575 driver. I used 'netconfig' to set the notebook up for dhcp. It worked for about 1min. Then the screen kept flashing with errors of something like 'too much work .. pci bus'. I typed 'ifconfig eth0 down' to take it off the network. The errors stopped. Whenever I would try to put it back on the network, it started up with the same errors. I rand 'cardctl eject' and took the card out to read the model # and go on 3coms site. When i put the card back in, i ran 'cardctl reset' thinking thats the right way to get the card recognized again. After about 1min the system completely locked up. And whenever I reboot and it detects the card, it will lock up. Ive searched google and found some old patches for the 3c373 and 2.3 kernel, so I'm guessing I need to update for the problem to be fixed. Is this right? or is there something else I can do to get the system back in working condition and on a network w/o errors. Thank you. ===== Joe Topjian |Geek Code: | GCS d- s+:+ a--- c+++<c++++ BL+++ [EMAIL PROTECTED] | P+++ L+++ E---- W++ N+ W--- M Y+ http://terrarum.net | PGP t X+ tv b++ D+++ G e h! !r y- __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
