I used to use mkpasswd to generate random passwords a long time ago, but I cannot find it anymore. I checked RedHat's site, and changelog for shadow-utils20000826-4 there is an entry where they removed mkpasswd.
Why was this? Is there any other utility for creating complex password for multi-user management? I know I can download one from freshmeat or sourceforge, but I was just curious if RedHat included one, and why mkpasswd is gone. Thanks.
