I'm quite happy with my Promise TX2. I've got 2 IBM 40GB UDMA100 drives and
have half of each drive mirrored using Linux mirroring. This way I've got
my production partitions mirrored, but not my backup or Windows partitions.
I picked up the TX2 at mwave.com for about $25.
Why are you restricting yourself to hardware RAID?
