I'm getting a accumulation of files in my /var/log/ named pacct.*.gz I gather that these are logs of "process accounting". And some are quite large -- 10 Meg in some cases!
As a standalone machine, do I need process accounting? Do I need these log files? Can I turn off process accounting and/or get rid of the log files? It would appear that this got switched on with the upgrade to 7.2. TIA John -- John P.
