I am aware of that :). That's what runlevel 5 was invented for in the first
place. Hopefully somebody else can give you a more elegant solution.
Any way, don't switch runlevels like I did (3 -> 1 -> 3), that really screws
things up (RH7 system). In that case only the 3 finger salute helps you out,
since there is no console to log in to.
