After starting your samba server with /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start, check
to see if it really starts with /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb status.  If it
still isn't running then you have problems with your smb.conf file or
something else is wrong.  Try testing the smb.conf with the 'testparm'
command.  This will let you know if something is wrong with it.
