Hello, List! I have a fairly new RH7.2 system up and running. There are certain things that I like to compile from scratch, and there are certain things where an rpm will suit me fine. However, updates have been coming at quite a pace lately, and I'm trying to find a way around having to use '--nodeps' when I upgrade certain software via rpm. For example:
I compiled libcrypto and zlib myself. Many programs rely on these libraries. When try to install/upgrade/freshen an rpm on my system, I get: libcrypto.so.2 is needed by some_rpm-1.2.3-1 libz.so.1 is needed by some_rpm-1.2.3-1 So I then add --nodeps to have the package install. Once installed, it works just fine (because these libraries are on my system). Long story short: Is there any way that I can tell rpm that these things exist, and to not bug me about them? Any thoughts on this appreciated. Thanks. -- Ed Marczak [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
