Travel back through time.  Put a tape drive on that machine.  Back it up.
Bring tape back into the present.  Restore.

Sorry, couldn't resist.  Ideally, you should have some way of backing that
machine up.  There are certain situations that, while not impossible to
recover from without a backup, are close to it.

Is your machine still up and running?  Is it connected to a network?  That
way, you could transfer some files over the net.  If you care to recreate
some of the /dev entries, read up on mknod.

If I was in your position, with no back up, I'd get that drive into another
working machine as a secondary drive, write /dev/* onto it, and put it back
into the original machine.
