Half of the stuff either conflicts with something that's needed by something else that's already installed, or it conflicts with something that I'm trying to install that has to be there to get the other stuff to install. This is not only insane, it's dumb. Everything needed should be in the same directory with what's being attempted, especially with something as fragmented as gnome (and kde sometimes).
