I am also a student of C++ right now. I have recently been inquiring about
the same thing...I have been told KDE includes a development tool similar to
Visual Studio, it's called KDevelop. Also G++ is a C++ compiler as best I
can tell. I just recently downloaded a free 30 day trial of a C++
development program that Intel makes (I didn't know they made software???).
I haven't gotten to try any of these out yet. But that is all of the info I
have gathered. Please email me a let me know how things go for you.
