This sounds rather dangerous.  I very rarely use nodeps or force unless I
know *exactly* what the consequences are.  rpms do go in smoothly if you
install them in the right order - this order is documented on the kde web
site (and I can't remember this anymore - it's been quite a while since I've
upgraded kde from scratch - qt is first though).

Since up2date is supposed to resolve dependencies, I'd take a stab at
install a package that relies on kde and have it installed that way.  Try
something like koffice and see how well that works.
