Can I put the boot loader in the MBR, if I'm using XP? Seems to me there was a caveat with respect to NT and Win 2000.

I'd prefer LILO and/or Grub, just because of familiarity. Last time I tried dual boot this way, it worked like a charm (using GRUB, RedHat 7.2), with no extra configuration needed.
