Hi...

I'm not really familiar with the problem, but you can absolutely
slow down the halting procedure.

It's simplay a bash file found at /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt...so go
ahead and add more sleep commands (or increase the time of sleeps
already found in it)...

The converse by the way is also true for those that want a quicker
halt...you can edit the file and decrease the sleep times and
comment out the parts that aren't applicable to your system.

If you spend enough time playing with the files in /etc/rc.d and
replace your bios with a linuxbios, you can get amazing startup
and shutdown times!
