what utilities exist to survey the irq and i/o resources as linux has
allocated them to all my various devices?

i have just installed a third ethernet card, and redhat 7.3, and am
wondering if that ethernet card is conflicting with anything. could it
be a mere coincidence that during bootup i now see:

/dev/mouse: Device or resource busy

and, the x server won't start. complains that something must be wrong
about the configuration.

presuming that the new ethernet card is the problem, what utilities have
i available to diagnose with?

i only had an isa slot available, so i grabbed a D-Link DE-220P. the
first 2 are pci. my /etc/modules.conf contains:

alias eth0 3c59x #3Com 3c900 Cyclone 10Mbps Combo Vers LK1.1.16
alias eth1 8139too #SMC1211TX EZCard 10/100 (RealTek RTL8139)
alias eth2 ne #D-Link DE-220P PnP ISA Card
