Hi there, I am running Redhat 8 with KDE version 3.0.3-13 (system default). Becoz of lockscreen and screensaver bug (http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=74785), I need to get a upgrade of KDE in order to solve the bug.
So I downloaded the following files from a mirror redhat 8 download site under rawhide (as described at bugzilla): -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 19632563 Oct 16 19:08 kdebase-3.0.4-1.i386.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 79034 Oct 16 18:41 kdebase-devel-3.0.4-1.i386.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10328206 Oct 16 19:21 kdelibs-3.0.4-2.i386.rpm Now, is that how should I upgrade these packages? Should I logoff from KDE, login to GNOME, then perform a upgrade as described at (http://www.kde.org/documentation/faq/install.html) by using "rpm -ivh xxx.rpm"? But I hit alots of conflicts errors after the preparation of the installation? How about dependencies? Anyone has successfully upgraded the KDE w/o problem and solve the lockscreen and screensaver thingy? Please guide me... thanks a zillion for this... ===== Thank you, Neo Gigs http://communities.msn.com.my/VisualBasicwithNeo http://www.smspays.com/reg_country.asp?refer=110009 Note: This is to addressees only, revert if wish to unload from mailing list. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
