I've got a Red Hat Linux release 7.0 (Guinness), Kernel 2.2.16-22 on an
i686 system.

When I put a CD into the CD-ROM and try to mount I get the following. Not
matter what I do I can't mount my CD.

(dominoold:paul) /home/paul> mount /dev/cdrom
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
or too many mounted file systems

I don't think there are any other filesystems mounted either so I have no
idea.
