Let me ask: You edit the netfilter userspace extension
/lib/iptables/libipt_LOG.so??? It's a binary shared object archiv.
What did you change? How do you edit it? Sounds strange.

2.4.7-10? Sounds like a non-updated Red Hat Linux 7.2.
The latest would be 2.4.9-38 or so.

I think you should use a kernel that is supported by your
distribution and compatible with iptables 1.2.5-3 from Red Hat.
The System.map file is in the kernel package.
