How can I change the host name of my host? I am the root. Thanks for any help.

If find that trying to memorize this procedure for the several un*x variants I work with is not worth the trouble. I typically enter the command:
grep -i -r hostname /etc
to find any file in /etc and subdirectories containing the current hostname - then edit the file and reboot. Not exactly elegant, but it works.
