I recently upgraded a RH7.2 system to 8.0 and can't get the screensavers to work. After much fiddling, I got the screensaver to kick in the *first* time the timeout period expires, but not on subsequent timeouts. Only way to get the screensaver to run again is to restart KDE and wait for the timeout.
