Hi,
   Since you're running RH 5.0, you can login as root and run netcfg. 
It is a gui environment which will let you configure your connection
fairly easily.  However, there's many problem you'll encounter if you
don't know much (just like I did ;-))  So, do this, go to
http://www.linux.org.au/LDP/HOWTO/PPP-HOWTO.html and read it.  This
will bore you a lot, but in the long run, you'll appreciate it.
