I'm not sure if you've connected using minicom or netconfig as yet. If you
have please mail me how you did this. I came across a software for Redhat
called ezppp that can be downloaded for free from the net. It has a
friendly GUI, and thru this (after 2 months of exhaustive retrials), my
connection went thru without a 
problem. I am now in the 'connected' league!!!!
