I think there is value in being the kind of player who can withstand the lightning bolts that might char others and taking those for the team.
I think you're refining my argument too much. I didn't say Pedroia can help Crawford hit, but perhaps he can help relieve the pressure that's causing other Sox to make stupid errors.
