We've gone over Theo's free agent failings a few times on this list. He's
clearly had more success with players he's acquired through trade (like
Gonzalez.)

But the free agents we've brought in behave as if they've already scored
their payday and no longer have to compete. Why is that? Is it a failure of
Theo to understand their personalities or make up?

Or does the fault lie with Tito? His steady management served this franchise
well in our early years when there was no shortage of frenetic energy, but
have we gone too far in the "talent will win out in the end" mentality?

I'm not sure what the answer is.But  I'll amend with my blame assignments of
a few weeks ago. Players deserve the bulk but I'm splitting the remainder
evenly between Theo and Tito.
