You may not buy the theory. I typically wouldn't. But one can't argue with
the fact. No Sox free agent has ever met expectations, except maybe Scutaro.

The question is why?

I'm with you on Crawford. We need to give him more time, but as far as free
agents go he poor season has been the rule, not the exception.
