I always kind of liked Bartlett when he was the Tampa Bay. Seems like he always got a big hit against the Sox. And he has career numbers of .271 BA and .702 OPS and is familiar with the league.
Boy, this sure ain't the golden age of shortstops, is it?? Nothing like back in the day when you had Jeter, Nomar, A-Rod, Miguel Tejada, Cal Ripken, Michael Young in the early 2000's..... His arm never really fully healed. Peralta would be fine, if the Tigers really let him go. I would sign Stephen Drew for a couple of years as a stopgap before Bogaerts is ready, but his brother might warn him away from Boston. At the least they could sign a Bartlett or Izturis as a good-fielding option if Iglesias continues to be awful at the plate. Don't know if either is better than Ciriaco at this point though.
