Hi, Tom. I did lots of homework before trying the E-ballasts. I ordered them
from CLS and I am very pleased with them. They fire every bulb I've tried.
They work first time, everytime. They are cool to the touch and totally
silent running. I have an old Hamiton that sounds like a tank when it starts
and hums LOUD (but works great no matter how much abuse I give it.) I also
have PFO ballasts that are really good and relatively cheap too. I run all IC
ballasts for VHO but have not tried the electronic MH ICs because I need 400
watters and I want to run whatever bulb I need to run. I can't say how long
the E-ballasts will last. I will be running more E-ballasts in the future
depending on needs and finances....John sends.
