Apparently my post a few days ago never made it to the group. At least it
never made it back to me so please forgive me if you received this before.
I plan to set up 2 Nano reef tanks. I do not plan to keep fish in these
tanks only live rock, mushrooms, star polyps, maybe a shrimp or crabs for
movement, small inverts, etc. Here is my planned set up:
10"x10"x10" tanks, powerhead for circulation, weekly or bi-weekly water
changes of about 2 gallons each. No skimmer.
I need suggestions for lighting: I plan to use power compacts but also have
2-175w MH pendants unused at this time....which would be better? How much
power compact should I use if I decide to keep small SPS frags in the
future? I do plan to keep these tanks side-by-side, would one MH do the
trick?
I also need thoughts for the skimmer: If I am not putting fish in these
tanks and the water changes are performed on a ritualistic basis do I need
one?
Any and all suggestions are welcome!
