actually my husband built it, I know it is a large piece of pvc pipe, that has bio balls in the bottom, and about 50 feet of tubing coiled in it, and then it is sealed at both ends with only the tubing coming out... I am sure you can find one on www.reefs.org  or someone else here can tell you more... my tank is a 75 gallon, it has a couple hundred pounds of live rock, live sand, corals, 1 lg. yellow tang, 2 spotted cardnials, a bi color blenny and a mandarin... the mandarin has been in there for over 3 years now and is fat and healthy....I never feed the tank as in putting food in it, that was over 3 years ago... I have for filter just a protein skimmer and the nitrate reactor.. no other filtration besides the rock and sand, I also have a very very large cucumber in there...

best bet would be no more than 50% and build yourself a nitrate reactor, I have 0 nitrates and change water maybe once a year.....I do add make up water, but I think right now it has been close to 3 years since I did a change....
