Just writing this to report on the mag pump maintainence (for reference if
anyone's interested).

Turns out the impeller was not broken, but I'm still glad I bought another.
I drip kalk into my sump, and it seems that over time lime had deposited on
the interior of the impeller chamber, the impeller, and most importantly on
the impeller shaft/axel. I set the pump on it's back, and filled the
chamber with vinegar and let it sit for an hour. I then scrubbed/chipped
all the lime out with a toothbrush and small screwdriver. I put a new
impeller in, and reattached everything. I'm now getting my old flow rate
again. It also helped to clean out the overflow, as my return rate had been
greatly slowed by the slots being slightly clogged. I totally disassembled
the old impeller, and soaked the parts in vinegar overnight. When I
reassembled it in the morning, I had a like new impeller :-). Now I've got
a spare that I can trade out as needed. Looks like I have to clean and swap
these about every 6 months, but at least now I've got a spare that I can do
this with.

Thanks for all the help guys.
