It certainly breaks when compiling with gcc 4.1.1 on x86_64 and there is 
also some (theoretically) incorrect code which should cause gcc -Wall to 
complain. (The latter having to do with invalid casting from (void *) to 
function pointers, IIRC.)

Please see some of my posts in the "compilation warnings" thread -- I 
posted some patches for some of these.
